Economic Growth

At CDM, our professionals work together to develop and deliver the right total solution, promoting sustainable economic growth, building local economic and institutional capacity, and improving quality of life. We contribute to local and global economies through good governance and business practices, including responsible procurement, jobs creation, and revenue generation.

Within our own operations, we honor our longstanding commitment to building a stronger firm for future generations through strategic planning, leadership development, and employee ownership. In addition, our employees are active, caring citizens who contribute thousands of hours annually to civic and charitable causes. CDM's support of global organizations like Engineers Without Borders, Water For People, Care International, and the United Way includes both financial donations and employee volunteerism.

We also partner with schools to help children develop business, technical, and leadership skills; fund higher education scholarships through the American Water Works Association, United Negro College Fund, and universities; and provide internships and cooperative education opportunities.

United Way United Way

Contributing to the  United Way is an excellent means for CDM and our employees to support the local communities in which we live and work. In 2007, CDM's corporate and individual contributions of $123,866 to the United Way helped fund a wide range of worthwhile community activities and efforts to meet the needs of many citizen and volunteer groups. In addition, the United Way invests in targeted initiatives, such as its Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (MSTi), which was launched in 2004. The goal of this program is to excite a diverse group of young people about science and the wonderful options it holds for their futures. Disadvantaged middle-school students benefit from hands-on math and science education in after-school programs.
