CDM designed, permitted, and constructed a wastewater connection to the local sewer system for the University of Pittsburgh's Applied Research Center (U-PARC). Completed on an aggressive 5-month schedule to meet the National Pollutant Discharge Elmination System (NPDES) permit deadline, the project consisted of 2,500 feet of 8-inch pipeline and a connection to the municipal sewer interceptor. In addition, CDM demolished U-PARC's onsite wastewater treatment facility and used the crushed concrete as backfill to save costs.
