CDM provided lead design services for the expansion of the Center for Environmental Science and Technology Management (CESTM) complex at the State University of New York at Albany. The expansion included:
The project includes the design of a three-story office building, which houses entities participating in business incubation and economic development in the areas of micro- and nanoelectronics, micro- and nanosystems, optoelectronics, bioelectronics, and nanosensors for the energy and environmental industries. The building also includes a cleanroom for research and development activities, as well as a 250-seat auditorium and several classrooms. Of particular interest are the "virtual classroom" capabilities throughout the facility. A 4,000-sq-ft roof-top terrace located on the third level above the tenant suites is designed to accommodate large group functions as well as daily gatherings.
