As part of the overall airport master plan, CDM prepared an environmental impact statement/environmental impact report (EIS/EIR) for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in fulfillment of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). CDM served as a key consultant on LAWA's master plan team and participated in the development of strategic approaches to the resolution of environmental issues associated with the considered airport alternatives. In addition to managing critical aspects of the EIS/EIR, including ensuring that the environmental documentation was prepared in full compliance with NEPA, FAA environmental handbook, CEQA, and state CEQA guidelines, CDM managed all air quality analyses and conducted extensive modeling of on-airport impacts. CDM also modeled the health risks associated with toxic air pollutants and determined the project's potential water quality impacts.
