CDM design-built the mechanical and electrical portions of Tessy Plastics' 39,000-square-foot building addition. The new building houses 49 new injection-molding machines and includes an additional 18,000 square feet of warehouse space. The fast-track project included the installation of air compressors to service the new injection molders; installation of all heating, air handling, and dehumidification equipment; design and construction of a chilled water system; design, fabrication, and installation of piping and equipment support systems; and installation of all electrical components.
CDM completed all the mechanical work in only 4 months while successfully accommodating a 25-percent increase in the number of plastic injection molders and completely reconfiguring the production shop floor.
