Looking to optimize testing operations while meeting regulatory compliance, Boeing's Long Beach Division (LBD) retained CDM to design-build an aircraft fuel recycling system to replace their existing system. CDM designed a system for use during jettisoned fuel dump testing that captures the fuel in underground storage tanks. Once captured, the fuel is filtered and transferred to bulk fuel service trucks and recycled for aircraft refueling.
LBD selected CDM for this project because of our successful performance on a number of past projects at their Long Beach facility. These projects include the design and installation of a tank farm, fuel additive system, and defueling system at the C-17 test ramp. CDM also fabricated the original fuel jettison trailers used to test the C-17 fuel dump system for LBD's military division, as well as the hydrant servicers used in fueling operations.
