FEMA Map Modernization Services

Since 2002, CDM has been providing services to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and state and local partners nationwide to assist in achieving the goals of the map modernization program (MIP).

 

An early adopter of FEMA's MIP tools, CDM's services include:

  • Pre-scoping and scoping activities
  • Terrain, river, and coastal flood hazard data development
  • GIS-based floodplain mapping and redelineation
  • DFIRM production and preliminary issuance
  • Post-preliminary processing and map adoption
  • Outreach and coordination activities
  • QA/QC
  • Disaster response activities

CDM is a FEMA partner with multiple 5-year IDIQ contracts located in Region I (prime contractor), Region V (prime and performance-based service contract), and Region VI (JV partner and performance-based service contract).

CDM is also supporting FEMA's national service provider (NSP) to conduct technical reviews and compliance with NFIP regulations and FEMA policies. Locally, CDM is supporting Cooperative Technical Partners (CTPs), non-CTPs, and other federal agencies to enable their participation in map modernization through flood hazard data development and DFIRM production. CDM has supported the following partners:

  • Pearl River County, Mississippi (Region IV)
  • City of Lincoln, Nebraska (Region VII)
  • Johnson County, Kansas (Region VII)
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District (Region VI)
