Since 1991, CDM has provided a wide range of environmental services at the Portsmouth gaseous diffusion plant, an operating uranium enrichment facility. CDM conducted environmental compliance sampling and reporting, and remedial characterization activities. CDM's services included weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and biannual sampling and inspections. Under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) closure inspections and multimedia sampling and analysis, work included the inspection of nine RCRA closure sites, annual sampling of 380 wells (2,700 samples per year), water level measurements, ambient air sampling, and waste sampling.
CDM utilized several codified ambient air models in support of new air permit applications and environmental dose monitoring, and has collected 20 undisturbed soil samples to assist in treatability studies.
