CDM provided emergency operations and maintenance (O&M) management services at a BWSC stormwater pumping station that serves approximately 1 square mile of the city. CDM engineering and O&M specialists managed the facility's operation and maintenance activities for 13 months to ensure reliable operations during storm events. CDM's services were transitional--to minimize the potential for flooding while evaluating and correcting facility deficiencies. CDM studied and evaluated the facility's physical components and operating procedures, identifying several areas for immediate action that would greatly increase the station's reliability under serious storm events and in the event public utility services fail. CDM also developed a facility health and safety plan as part of a new facility O&M manual, implemented a preventive and planned maintenance program, and conducted O&M training. During the last phase of the project, CDM helped BWSC procure a contract operator for the facility and assisted in managing the transition.
