CDM is providing a series of study, design, and construction-phase services in support of the airport's $1.4 billion capital improvement program. CDM designed a 3,600-lineal-feet, 4 x 10-foot diameter culvert to convey Abram Creek beneath a proposed runway. Work included the design of hydraulic inlet, hydraulic drop, and outlet structures; 4-million cubic yards of earthwork; environmental investigations; and a construction-phase stormwater pollution prevention plan. In addition, CDM is providing fast-track, multidiscipline design of a centralized deicing facility. The facility design includes location selection, a glycol stormwater diversion structure, stormwater drainage collection, conveyance pump station, and 2-million gallon storage. Permit applications, a new aircraft deicing/glycol collection concrete pad, taxiways, pavement marking and lighting, and a sanitary sewer system tie-in are also part of the design. In support of future facilities and construction, CDM is providing environmental remediation services for sites previously used for underground storage tanks.
