CDM demonstrated that organic carbon/electron donor depletion had curtailed natural attenuation of PCE contamination at this former manufacturing site. CDM designed a novel sodium lactate injection system to reactivate biodegradation of the remaining chlorinated compounds via enhanced anaerobic bioremediation (EAB). The EAB system injects sodium lactate and yeast extract to promote the resumption of reductive dechlorination of the contaminants.
