The DeKalb County (Ga.) Department of Watershed Management decided to retire treatment portions of its 67-year-old Scott Candler water treatment plant and build a new facility on adjacent property, allowing the county to use the plant's existing emergency generators, high-service pumping stations, and clearwells. But it also meant the old facility's signals would have to be integrated with a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.
