Federal Emergency Management Agency

CDM supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and with emergency response and recovery services to disasters nationwide. For the NFIP, CDM supports FEMA's Map Modernization Program, which combines state-of-the-art information technology with traditional hydrologic and hydraulic engineering to develop digital flood insurance rate maps (DFIRMs), which are adopted by communities and used to implement sound floodplain management and mitigation practices. In response to major natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, CDM rapidly mobilizes teams of technical experts to complete damage assessments, manage debris removal and other cleanup work, help direct federal aid to affected individuals and communities, and assist local authorities in long-term recovery and reconstruction efforts.

CDM services are available to the Department of Homeland Security through many contracting vehicles, including performance-based indefinite delivery contracts with FEMA and the U.S. Coast Guard.
