Since the passage of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) in 1980, CDM has been a leader in helping the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) complete the remediation of hazardous waste sites nationwide. Under more than a dozen hazardous waste contracts, CDM has completed more than 2,800 assignments for site investigations, remedial planning and design, construction of remedial actions, and operation and maintenance of remedial systems, including CERCLA enforcement support and oversight of work performed by other contractors. CDM’s work has spanned more than 500 Superfund sites and hundreds of other locations in all 10 EPA regions.
CDM’s work for EPA has also included research and development support, information systems development, and water quality studies and planning. CDM has assisted EPA in the development and maintenance of EPA’s Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) and in making improvements to the EXTRAN Block of SWMM.
