Membrane Treatment for Wastewater

Membrane technology—microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis—is an indispensable treatment alternative for utilities with complex water and wastewater management needs. CDM’s integrated approach helps clients maximize their water resources by using membranes to reduce pathogen-related risks, comply with rigorous treatment requirements, and supplement dwindling fresh water supplies—economically and confidently.

CDM’s membrane solutions for potable water can remove disinfection by-product precursors and soften and filter non-saline water in a single process, as well as convert brackish groundwater and other marginal sources into safe drinking water. By providing an absolute barrier, membrane technology provides highly efficient removal of Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and can be applied to protect against a wide range of contaminants, including pesticides, metals, arsenic, and radionuclides. And while membranes have a proven history in wastewater treatment, CDM combines both established and innovative membrane technologies, including the use of membrane bioreactors (MBR), to achieve high removal of suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, and synthetic organic chemicals.
