Combined and Sanitary Sewer Management

CDM has been developing effective and affordable sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) management strategies for more than 2 decades, helping utilities address varied wastewater collection system management needs, devising cost-effective treatment processes to deal with wet weather flows, and providing technical input to the SSO advisory committee and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. CDM’s experience includes the full spectrum of services needed for capacity, management, operations and maintenance (CMOM) compliance, delivered within the economic, staffing and other constraints unique to each utility.

In addition, CDM has been involved in virtually every aspect of the combined sewer overflow (CSO) controls, implementing extensive monitoring and sampling efforts, modeling some of the most complex collection systems in the country, and designing storage and treatment facilities to mitigate overflows. We have evaluated a wide range of abatement alternatives and have found innovative and cost‑effective solutions to help communities comply with regulatory agency mandates through both our technical and negotiation skills.
