CDM has provided planning and design services at more than 150 landfills nationwide, ranging in size from under 10 to more than 3,000 acres. This work has included conceptual and final designs of municipal solid waste landfills, bioreactor landfills, ashfills/monofills, construction and demolition debris landfills, and industrial sludge landfills. We have designed and specified alternative liner systems with leachate collection/leak detection and methane control for new landfill sites as well as expansions of existing facilities. Our landfill designs incorporate stormwater runoff and erosion control measures, maximize site life, and consider end uses.
CDM is a national leader in bioreactor landfills and has been in the forefront of leachate recirculation and bioreactor technology. We are currently in various phases of investigation, permitting, design, construction, and operations of multiple bioreactor projects. These projects demonstrate CDM’s ability to incorporate design innovations that advance the performance of solid waste management facilities.
