MACT
The Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 mandated maximum achievable control technology (MACT) provisions governing emissions of EPA’s designated hazardous air pollutants (HAP). HAPs are compounds considered hazardous to human health—including formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid, benzene, and others. CDM understands MACT and offers a wealth of experience evaluating the applicability and compliance of HAP emissions from major sources of air pollution with various MACT standards while developing specific strategies to address them. These strategies incorporate both tried and true practices and alternative practices to minimize time and expense while ensuring compliance.
