CDM to Continue Work With USAID by Providing A-E Infrastructure Services
December 11, 2008
CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS—CDM—a provider of global engineering and construction infrastructure expertise to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for more than 40 years—has been selected to supply architecture-engineer (A-E) services under the agency's Global A-E Infrastructure Services Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC). CDM will lead a team of world-class firms that will assist USAID field missions and bureaus in a broad range of A-E services, to include water resources, environmental engineering, transportation, industrial and chemical engineering, civil and structural engineering, power, and telecommunications.
This 5-year, $500 million (ceiling), multiple-award contract is the latest iteration in a series of USAID-funded A-E services. Efforts will be focused on transformational development states, including an emphasis on disaster and post-disaster/conflict states. CDM has been an implementing partner with USAID on each previous phase of the IQC, successfully undertaking work in places such as Afghanistan, Lebanon, the West Bank & Gaza, Jordan, Egypt, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
"CDM is very pleased to have been selected once again to work collaboratively with USAID on the design and planning activities related to a wide variety of important and timely infrastructure projects," said J. Ellis Turner, senior vice president and USAID client service manager. "We look forward to applying the combined expertise of our team members to help USAID meet the global infrastructure challenges of the 21st century," stated Turner.
