Elwell and Brown Appointed to Water for People

CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS—Frederick H. Elwell, P.E., BCEE, senior consultant, and Paul R. Brown, President of CDM's Public Services Group, have been elected to leadership positions at Water for People, an international nonprofit development organization committed to improving the quality of life by supporting sustainable drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene projects.
In February, the Water for People board of directors elected Elwell president. He also serves as chair of Water for People's Executive Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) board of directors and the AWWA Executive Committee.
Brown has been appointed to the Endowment Committee of the John H. Ware Jr. International Water and Sanitation Fellowship Program. Sponsored through Water for People, the fellowship program brings water professionals from developing countries to the United States to train alongside their U.S. counterparts for a better understanding of the North American water industry and health education field.
A senior vice president with CDM until his retirement last year, Elwell has more than 40 years of experience leading strategic programs in water resources, drinking water, and wastewater management.
Brown, a member of CDM’s board of directors, has more than 30 years of experience in project development, project finance, and the planning and management of public utilities and environmental facilities. He has also been a key leader in a number of water resources planning projects emphasizing stakeholder involvement and multi-objective decision making.
