CDM Completes Water Supply Well for Navajo Nation

September 27, 2006

LEUPP, ARIZONA—CDM has completed the design and construction of a new water supply well to benefit the Navajo Nation Leupp Chapter. The 240-gallon-per-minute well is the very first to be owned and operated by any of the Navajo Nation's 110 chapters.

Donated by Texas-based natural gas and energy company El Paso Corporation, the well provides a badly needed source of year-round water for homes, livestock, and other uses. The well and its site were designed to make it convenient for Leupp Chapter ranchers, farmers, and others to draw water, and it has been constructed to withstand extreme winter temperatures without freezing.

The well is critical to meet the ongoing needs of the chapter, whose members previously had to travel long distances for water.

The new well went into service in August and began producing water for the 1,600 members of the Navajo Nation Leupp Chapter. El Paso Corporation, a key employer in the area, maintains a compressor station near the well site.

CDM is a consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm delivering exceptional service to public and private clients worldwide.
