CDM Acquires Polish Environmental Firm PROEKO

May 18, 2007

WARSAW, POLAND—CDM, the U.S.-based global consulting, engineering, construction and operations firm, has announced the acquisition of the Polish environmental consultancy PROEKO, headquartered in Warsaw.

PROEKO, active in the Polish market since 1991, provides specialized consulting services in environmental protection, with core expertise in environmental investment, policies, and program development; integrated pollution prevention and control and other permitting; environmental assessments and audits; and renewable energy.

PROEKO will operate in its national and central-east European markets as PROEKO Ltd., a subsidiary of CDM, with 100-percent ownership by CDM Sp. z o.o., CDM’s registered entity in Poland.

The acquisition further enhances CDM’s operations in Europe, which now include more than a dozen offices in Ireland, Germany, and Poland. CDM is active throughout Europe on water resources planning and management projects related to implementation of the European Union (EU) Water Framework Directive, urban planning and urban development, engineering for water and transportation infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, and environmental remediation.

According to Christopher V. Oot, President of CDM’s International Services Group, “the acquisition of PROEKO expands the portfolio of services we offer throughout Europe and gives CDM greater capacity to meet client needs in Central and Eastern Europe.”

“By joining forces with one of Poland’s leading environmental consulting companies, we have the full advantage of PROEKO’s command of EU and regional environmental legislation and technical practice in the utility sectors in Central Europe,” said Oot.

Bronislaw Kamiński, President of PROEKO, affirmed the benefit of the transaction, noting that under the partnership, “PROEKO gains access to CDM’s European and worldwide resources and experience in the environmental sector and significantly increases its capabilities and potential for further development.”

PROEKO has more than 30 employees, professional engineers and economists, including experts with practical experience of work at the highest levels of government administration.

Clients include municipal utilities and departments in Warsaw and Krakow, and throughout Poland; national ministries; the World Bank; Polish industries in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgy, and mineral sectors; commercial and residential development companies; and power utilities including wind and hydropower developers.

CDM is a consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm delivering exceptional service to public and private clients worldwide.
