2007 Public Works Project of the Year
CDM's expansion of the Central Buckeye, Arizona wastewater treatment plant has been named the "Public Works Project of the Year" by the Arizona chapter of the American Public Works Association in the $2 Million to $10 Million Category. CDM delivered the 1.5-million-gallon-per-day interim upgrade and expansion project through a construction management at-risk delivery method, which accelerated the schedule and provided an interim facility that meets the community's short-term needs. The expansion allowed Buckeye to increase its wastewater treatment capacity before projected growth takes place, ensuring that the town will have sufficient capacity for years to come. The innovative delivery method also saved 6 months over a traditional approach, allowing development to continue in the service area.
